Illiana Expressway - Friend or Foe?

Just when it looks like Governor Daniels has had it with Northwest Indiana, throws up his hands and pronounces "why work so hard for them, they didn't elect me anyway." the unions join hands to pull their democratic pals into line.

NWI Indiana groups announce support (finally) for the Illiana Expressway

In the interest of equal opportunity here is the link to the nwi.com message board where Illiana protesters like to post and discuss their reasons for disliking the idea.

So, what's your position?

The Illiana needs to be built to divert truck traffic away from the congested Borman Expressway, as well as make Northwest Indiana attractive to companies hoping to locate their operations in a central location.

I wonder if farmers are really opposed to highways. The quick work the farmers in Jasper County did to get Exit 220 on I-65 approved and built makes me think that farmers like to have ready access to roadways so they can get their goods to markets.

The road will be built sooner or later as more and more people move into southern Lake and Porter Counties from Illinois.
