President Bush conducted a rare live press conference, or better stated, press release this morning. He called for Congress to pass the negotiated bailout bill quickly to calm markets.
I think he would gain with the public and conservatives. The media will drill him no matter what. I he votes against it Obama will claim he doesn't care about the middle class or their retirement accounts. If he does vote or it then he will be accused of sucking up to big business. Last I heard Mike Pence and friends were still fighting it. Any one know?

Mike Pence is firmly against and has been on floor today saying so.
