Only a few days left - observations

Not much time tonite to post links but a couple thoughts for your evening:

John McCain still win, but millions of Obama voters would have to stop their lemming run into the myth, and look around to see that we really don't want to go the direction he's leading.

Polls all solidifying toward a three point lead for Obama nationwide, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania all tightened ... to inside the error margin in most cases

Indiana is McCain country, albeit a four or five point win rather than Mitch Daniels' 20 point win.

Republicans in general are downtrodden. How do we win elections where more than half of the population wants money from the government? Good question, and worth pursuing as we go forward.

If you need ideas for votes in county elections, read the posts below. Will post endorsement of judges and state reps tomorrow morning. No major surprises there.

Oh, and although I won't be posting an official endorsement, my own personal vote will go to Pete Visclosky for our Federal Congressman. I don't like all the pork and earmarks, but he has done a good job trying to bring Lake County to the table on regional projects and working with Mayor Costas and Porter County leaders.

And because of Pete, I have a job. He's definitely got my vote.

Obama voters are "lemmings", briefs? Come on -- that's not fair. Or accurate.

While national polls have shown McCain doing better, the polls of the swing states mostly are showing a comfortable Obama lead. There's still time for things to change, but it's getting more and more unlikely...

Ok Andrew, I'll say this.

Some Obama supporters are solid liberals who are supportive of his solutions for America's ills. Although I disagree with them, I respect them for having political thoughts and theories.

The rest though, the college kids following him like a rock band, the people going to events just to see rock bands ... and many others that I would call "lemming-ish" disappointe me. Elections are too important to subjugate them to frivolity.

But rest assured, my greatest angst is reserved for the worst offenders, those who will complain when Obama raises taxes on capital gains and dividends, once again putting small business on ice. These people who don't have a word to say right now, tick me off since they will get hammered but were too busy to pay attention.

Funny: Two wolves and a hen voting on what to have for dinner, is not a fair or free election.

Ah, yes -- the "Bandwagon Effect." Just read another news story about that today.

You've got the "Bandwagon Effect" that bothers you -- I've got the "Bradley Effect" that bothers me.

Too bad we have to hope *against* an "effect" in our elections more than *for* voters to educate themselves and vote for the candidate that best expresses their beliefs...

I may disagree with you, briefs, but I do appreciate the fact that you're knowledgeable on your subject and you've clearly done your research...
