Time for Change in Porter County?

To answer the question whether Porter County should return to antiquity, I would like to borrow that familiar, “NO!” the county Democrats have used so regularly in their reactionary decision making. In these crucial local races, we have the opportunity to vote for change, and on this, the county Democrats have no monopoly. In fact, they are the very obstacle to change that Obama and others have referred to. In Porter County, the good ol’ boy Democrats through their automatic “NO!” have outlawed progress, innovation, and creative thinking in favor of taking the heat off of themselves. Real leaders make tough decisions. Don’t allow Dan Whitten and Carole Knoblock to ride the coattails of the Democrat Presidential Candidate silently back into office for another term of the same old thing. Just remember that our current situation is the product of Democrat control—and no matter your political persuasion—these democrats are not about the new ideas boasted at the national level. In this important Election, the only vote for change at the local level is a vote for your local Republicans. Keep that in mind this November 4th.

It may be preferable to follow the lead of Mitch Daniels here. In a year that will see Barack Obama get mighty close (and fall just short) of winning in Indiana ... Mitch Daniels will win it by 20 points.

Why? Because he reminded Hoosiers that we don't elect Governors based on Iraq or sub-prime loans. We elect them to reduce the size of government hanging over our lives, to cap taxes, to make money on our assets, and to grow in the face of overwhelming economic pressures.

In Porter County we need this same return to basic job requirements. We want our political leaders to work to reduce government, even reorganize it to eliminate some elected official snafus. To cap and hold the line on taxes. To build infrastructure that is conducive to job creation.

Saying "NO" to every idea proposed is not going to help us do anything but fall behind.
