Police Have Never Been Laid Off

The tough questions continue into second hour, with commissioners wanting details on insurance, union contracts, retirement policy, and more.

Powerpoint by city showing four year plan to get to statutory limits, instead of current two year requirement.  The distressed unit board has the authority to allow this modification, but questions surround whether they have the will to do so.

Interesting trivia - the meeting is not in the state house, but across street in an office building.

Lots of union members in attendance, and they aren't happy.  Quote from hallway "I'll stick up for you guys but you have to kick the mayor in the ###" one employee to another.
