A little bit off topic, but still important...

Today, a few hours into work, word spread around that somebody had died. Alex (Rodriguez? Romeiro? I can't remember off hand) fell to his death from the top of a crane and at some point was cut in half. This happened on the other end of the shop that I was working in, and it made me think a little bit. I know this is primarily a political web site, so I'll keep this post brief. I began thinking about all of the days that I had left the house seething with anger after fighting with my wife. I imagined what it would have been like had the last words I had ever said to my wife before dieing were along the lines of "Well screw you!" Needless to say I called her and told her that I loved her. Alex (you'll see his last name in the paper tomorrow, I'm sure) was about 40 years old. He had a wife and young children. He put on his work cloths, laced up his boots, and when he left the house today he probably had plans for the night, since it was Saturday. Now, granted, working in the mill there is a higher chance for death, but it could have happened to any of you reading this as well. You could get into a car accident and never get that last chance to say I love you to your loved ones. I came home and told my wife about it, and that I wanted to implement a new family rule. Before I leave the house for work, everyday, even if we're in the middle of a huge fight, the requirement is that I give her a huge hug, a big kiss, do the same for Gage, and then I'll tell them both that I love them dearly. I know its a little off topic for this site, but its something to think about nonetheless.
