Hostettler runs away with straw poll

In a text a few minutes ago I was informed that the Porter County GOP decided to have a straw poll, can't say it was planned ahead or that anyone knew about it, at tonite's meeting in Duneland. I was unable to make it due to family Easter events.

The meeting was billed as a candidates nite, but schedule related issues caused it to fall on the afternoon before Easter so turnout was light.

I'll wait till morning to get the list of candidates that were able to show. I think the GOP may also have announced their new website, if they tell me the address I'll gladly post. I did a google search today and only found the new improved state/county site which was nice.

Ok, back to the straw poll from the group:

Hostettler won with 23 votes
Stutzman 2nd 9 votes
Coats 3rd 8 votes

As one commenter on an earlier post predicted, this is one possible result of the primary. Another is my own prediction of a narrow Stutzman win over Hostettler. It would appear though that at least in this corner of the state Dan Coats is in deep deep trouble.
