RDA - Round Two

After spending over $70,000 in legal fees, the Porter County Council will now consider whether it's time to appeal the recent ruling that they cannot leave the RDA. And for some reason this means firing the Indy law firm that lost the first round, and hiring a local law firm. Sounds a bit backwards to me, why didn't we use a local law firm for round one in NW Indiana and hire an expensive Indy firm for the appeals?

I know that many conservatives are siding with the Porter County Democrats on this one, and against labor and business ... odd partnerships for an election year. I for one think it's time to ask the legislature to amend the original bill and allow a member of the RDA the ability to get out once every 10 years. In addition any member that falls behind on payments more than one quarter should have assistance to local projects suspended until the payments are caught up.
