The Times raises the question implicitly, are Porter County attorneys funding the campaign of District Council Rita Stevenson to maintain a vote for appealing the RDA ruling?
I don't think so, I think Jeremy is trying to change the subject from his donations from unions who want to keep the RDA and it's investments in big labor projects in Northwest Indiana. In essence the labor unions want to keep the RDA, but they were unable to get out the vote last year when the RTA referendum came up. This seat is vulnerable and the unions appear to see an opportunity to strike.
Dan Whitten and Bob Harper have signaled their strong support for Rita Stevenson, and of course are helping out with donations to assist her campaign. If the council does decide to appeal, then I would agree a local legal firm should be used so the income tax dollars stay in county. I don't think the Indy firm should have been hired for the first round of legal challenges.
