Dan Coats. That's all I or anyone else has to say. Dan Freaking Coats.
With conservatives falling over themselves to support Marlin Stutzman and the Ron Paul losers backing Hostettler, you would have thought at least one of those two guys would have been able to knock off a Washington insider who said he loved North Carolina more than Indiana and who's list of clients included an ugly communist dictator in Venezuela.
Great work TEA Party!
And Mark Leyva for US Congress? I guess losing this seat in the most God awful fashion four times in a row just wasn't enough for this man. I really thought this was going to be the year to get somebody new out there and be a spokesman for conservatism in Lake County. I knew we'd lose this seat in 2010 regardless of who won, but come on. At least pick someone who hasn't been laughed at for a consecutive 10 years, going on 12.
But no... we got Mark Leyva, AGAIN.
And guess what, when I opened the NWI Times today, guess what I saw on the front page. Jim Biggs congratulating a Democrat. And inside the paper, congratulating yet ANOTHER Democrat. For real? Kevin Tracy, who has spoken at local Tea Parties and who campaigned as a conservative who backed Tea Party values, lost by 15% to a Republican who has a public BDSM fetish to be controlled by Democrats.
Tracy losing his race, Eric Olson losing his race, and Stutzman and Hostettler losing the Senate Race are all the proof in the world that the TEA Party is a joke. A really BAD joke. The only worse joke was Richard Behney, the organizer of the state wide Tea Party movement who humiliated himself every time he opened his mouth on the campaign trail for US Senate.
Indiana Republicans actually had some conservative candidates to be really excited about this year, but they didn't come out to the polls. Turnout was horrible. Barely 15%. With such a low turnout, this was the time for the Tea Party folks to come out and make a huge difference.
But they were too busy yelling into megaphones in front of hospitals and school board meetings to whine about military regulations and the possibility of Puerto Rico becoming a state and a bunch more brown skinned people who speak Spanish becoming American Citizens. FYI: Faith Jones, they're already citizens of the United States and they should have every right to become a state that Alaska and Hawaii had.
The failure of the Indiana Tea Party movement - if anything - scared normal conservatives from coming out to vote. Sure we beat the Democrats in turnout. This is also freaking Indiana. Conservatives should have blown them out of the water.
Instead, Faith Jones thought it would be fun to add the Indiana Republican Party and fellow conservative Marlin Stutzman to her hit list. The alternative? She hasn't the faintest idea, but most everyone agrees that man would be busy re-inventing the wheel if her and her lunatic friends were to take things over.
I'm glad they didn't vote. I just wish they would shut their mouths and let the grown-ups get back to work. Besides they smell like cigarettes, fake leather and enough pot to kill Willie Nelson. They're bringing down property values and they've proven beyond any reasonable doubt that they're absolutely worthless in the political spectrum.
