Veterans Day 2010

Thank you to all those who serve and have served, and to those who have given their lives.
In November 1919, President Wilson proclaimed November 11 as the first commemoration of Armistice Day with the following words: "To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…" source: The Department of Veterans Affairs
We celebrate and honor our Veterans because we know the cost of freedom isn't free, and these unique, courageous, brave individuals and their families sacrifice much to protect us and our freedoms that we take for granted, and too many make the ultimate sacrifice.
May God bless, keep and protect each and every one serving, recovering and reintegrating.  Lord, watch over and provide comfort, strength and wisdom to their families. Help each of us who are not directly affected by war, who may not have any personal contact with the military, or people who have served or are serving, to appreciate with great gratitude these magnificent and unselfish people who step forward in service to their country, to each of us. Amen
Find the cost of Freedom, buried in the ground. Mother Earth will swallow you. Lay your body down.
