7:50 p.m. Who do you think has the most to gain or lose tonite? I actually think Governor Romney has the most to lose if he isn't as strong as the last debate. The expectations game plays in favor of President Obama after his faulty start two weeks ago.
7:55 p.m. I guess no one will be able to ask the pizza question, was a great promotion idea! Town Hall format doesn't work well for either candidate actually. Would guess Obama will be loose and try using humor.
8:00 p.m. I will also be watching #debates on twitter, this appears to be the chosen tag and Fox reports 8,600 tweets per minute already. Now we start. Candy needs to refrain from clapping into the microphone. That's all I'm gonna say about her ...
8:03 p.m. College student who wants to know what the future President will do to get them a job after they graduate. (My own personal opinion of course being that this isn't the President's job) 50% of college kids that graduate won't have a job? Romney was average on that first question. Obama takes first shot "... when Governor Romney said we should let Detroit go bankrupt ..."
8:08 p.m. What about long term unemployed? Romney: The President's policies haven't put Americans back to work. Unemployment would be 10.7% if included people who've dropped out of workforce. He says his plan would add millions of jobs and create those jobs. Returns fire on Detroit comment, by bringing in Chrysler and other business BK's. Obama: Says that's just not true. Governor Romney doesn't have a 5 point plan, he has a 1 point plan. Good line. Something about the peeps at the top get a better deal than everyone else.
8:11 p.m. Romney tries to retort, but Candy cuts him off. She held the line better than Lehrer. Gas prices question. Obama takes some additional solid shots, the one on coal was a good one. Romney will want to defend himself and may have to take time from next question to do so. Realistically both candidates are dodging the questions and shooting at each other. " ... cutting licenses and permits ... how much ... disagreement and dissention ..." Nice!
"You'll get your chance in a moment ..." Touche!
8:20 p.m. These guys are getting heated and not enjoying each other at all. Fun
8:21 p.m. President shoots himself in foot, first big lie. The price of gas wasn't low in 2008 because of the recession, it was low because there was more oil and a strong dollar. Steve Doocey just posted on twitter that it only took Obama 19 minutes to blame Bush.
8:24 p.m. Rates and credits question could be quicksand for Romney. Many people want to keep their deductions and credits, even if they get a rate cut. Call us greedy. Romney prattles on, but doesn't screw it up. Obama says basically I said what I would do, and I did it. (problem is none of that worked). So now he talks about the wealthy need to pay more. Wealthy of course is a little odd, since many of those people are actually small business owners and the key job creators. Slap them, slap us.
Sorry ... got bored all by myself. Lol
